Wer bist du?
Born in Germany in 1975, Sebastian Posingis is an architectural photographer whose work stands out for its unique approach; he prioritizes the joy of experiencing buildings over strategizing iconic shots. His passion for photography began during his childhood in Sri Lanka, where he was unwittingly influenced by structures designed by renowned architect Geoffrey Bawa. This exposure laid the foundation for a lifelong fascination.

🔗 Turn Every Page – The Adventures of Robert Caro and Robert Gottlieb — I first saw this documentary on a flight last year and I was captivated. I now only fly airlines who feature this documentary as it’s the perfect antidote to everything that long haul flights can inflict on a person.
🔗 Running in the Family — One of my favourite books (and audio books) on Sri Lanka, I used to re-read it every time a new edition was published. I would recommend the audiobook which is narrated by Michael Ondaatje, which makes a must read even more sublime.
🔗 Alles Gesagt & Augen Zu — When I moved to Germany for the first time in 2020, during the pandemic, I used these podcasts (as well as Ohne den Hype) to understand Germany better and to learn more about art and culture from a German/European perspective. A perfect combo for me.
🔗 William Eggleston — This documentary was uploaded 12 years ago but I love the pace and honesty of this documentary.
🔗 Keep a diary — Every day. Short and concise. Ideas, people you met, places you visited. A thought or two. Three sentences. Thats all. The most mundane observation will be the most exciting discovery in years to come.
